Monday was always going to be a quite one on the course, considering the course was closed to spectators. Saying that the areas in and around the course we buzzing as they got set up for the crowds heading to Portstewart for the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish.

Tuesday sees the first full day of practice on the course when the golfers get their first proper sense as what to expect from the course, their opponents and the tournament which kicks off on Thursday morning.

Wednesday however the professional golfers get to have a final rest as they watch the celebrities take to the course in the Pro AMs. On course Wednesday we have Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill, the former world snooker player Denis Taylor, music men from local band Two Door Cinema Club Kevin Baird & Sam Haliday and Pat Jennings who played for Tottenham, Arsenal and Northern Ireland, plus many more

After the excitement that the Pro AM will certainly bring, the real business of golf gets underway with the professionals on Thursday Morning right through to Sunday with large crowds expected to flock to the North Coast over the following week.

The local crowds will certainly mostly be cheering for the home lads, Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and of course the favourite Rory McIlroy.
