Antrim Area Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is extremely busy today with 25 people attending in the last hour alone and 20 very ill patients being cared for in the Department while they wait for a bed to become available in a ward.
Please only come to the ED if your condition is urgent or life threatening and needs to be treated immediately. We do not wish to put people off coming that need URGENT care, but we do want everyone to think carefully and choose the appropriate health service for their condition, so that they get the treatment needed as soon as possible and that ED staff time and space is used by those who really need it.
