Missing Yacht Pilgrim found

Yacht Pilgrim left Bangor Marina on the 23rd April 2019 understood to be routing to Rathlin Island. The plan was then to go westwards towards Malin Head. There has been no communication from the vessell since it left Bangor Marina in Co Down. The Irish Coastgaurd are becoming concerned for the whereabouts of the vessell. Today Saturday Belfast Coastguard checked all Harbours and carried out a coastal serarch Nothing was found. If you see this vessell you should contact Belfast Coastguard and advise of ots location.

Yesterday a search for a Yacht named Pilgrims was initiated after it left Bangor Marina on the 23rd April, understood to be making its way to Rathlin, but hadn’t been heard from since.

After searching local harbours and marinas for the yacht, including checks along the coast, the yacht could not be located.

However a signing was reported to the Irish Coast Guard and the yacht was eventually located off Tory Island.

“Just before 1400 yesterday afternoon, Coleraine Coastguard Team was tasked, along with CRTs from Ballycastle and Rathlin, to carry out visual checks along the coast, including all harbours and marinas, for the yacht Pilgrim, following concerns about its whereabouts.
Eventually, information was received from the Irish Coast Guard that the vessel had been located off Tory Island.”
