A man was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
John Ross (38) of Riverstown Close, Ballymoney, claimed Income Support and Carer’s Allowance totalling £10,985 while failing to declare employment. He was given a three month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
All wrongfully obtained money has been repaid to the Department for Communities
