A number of Ballymoney businesses have been nominated for awards at the 2nd Independent Retail Awards to be held in Belfast.

The black tie awards ceremony will take place on August 22nd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and was set up to recognise local retails and their contribution to their communities through out Northern Ireland.

On the ‘Indie Retail’ website they say that,

For every £1 spent with a local, independent business, between 50p-70p circulates back into that local economy. Shopping online or in corporate, out of town retailers only generates around 5p back into the local community.
