Dervock residents look at possibility of residents 'off road' parking

A meeting with the North Antrim MLA Mervyn Storey and the residents of Greystone Crescent in the village of Dervock, was held recently to discuss options for a car park to allow local resident to park ‘off road’.

The meeting discussed the possibility to widen Greystone Crescent and give the addition space to facilitate this ‘off road’ parking. The local resident were petitioned on their views recently by local Kirstie Criag and her daughter Brooke.

The issue is in its early stages but with the initial contact and support from the local MLA, Mervyn Storey, residents are extremely hopeful.

A further on site meeting is to be arranged with DfI’s (Department for Infrastructure) Mr Colin Harris, where residents will be able to lobby and put their questions to the department.

The meeting, organised on behalf of the residents by Dervock Community Association, also looked at various other issues in the village. These included road calming measures, the inappropriate placement of community seating and the state of the current play facilities at Gleystone Crescent.
