Older persons encouraged to think about security.

0 views

As the darker evenings set in, the Police are asking that the elderly and those associated with older people, think about their security.

A crime prevention office has issued the following advice saying;

“If you are in contact with an older person or a group can you encourage them to ensure that their doors are locked when leaving the house and their windows are closed and locked if possible.

“Even when in the house lock doors, especially in the darker evenings and check ID of anyone unexpected who comes to their door.

“There have been a number of burglaries in recent weeks and these simple measures have not been in place.

“If you know of anyone over 60 who would like more advice on keeping safe please get in touch with COAST who can arrange a Safe Home visit.”

The following are details if you or others could avail of these services.
