Detectives are appealing for information following three reports of burglaries at residential premises in Ballycastle yesterday (Monday 28th October).

Detective Inspector Peter McKenna said: “It was reported to police shortly after 6:35pm, that entry was gained to a house in the Leyland Park area. Another property in the Leyland Park area was also entered and ransacked sometime between 3:30pm and 8:10pm. At this stage, it is not clear if anything was taken from either of the properties.

“Sometime between 6:30pm and shortly after 10:00pm, it was reported that entry was gained to a house in the Atlantic Avenue area. It is believed that a sum of money and other items were taken during the incident.

“Enquiries are continuing and police are investigating a link between these three incidents.

“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in either the Leyland Park or Atlantic Avenue area during that time period to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1648 28/10/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
