Detectives from Public Protection Branch have charged a 28 year old man with attempted murder, assault on police, common assault and harassment.
He is expected to appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday 07 October.
As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in connection with an incident at a house in the Hawthorn Terrace area of Coleraine early on Saturday morning, 05 October. A 28 year old female sustained a number of stab wounds to her body during the incident and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
