Ballymoney Car parking charges increase, as two car parks swap free status

255 views

After Wednesday council meeting where car parking charges were put back on the table and an option agreed, increases for Ballymoney are expected as two of the car parks swap ‘free parking status’.

These proposed changes will form part of councils plans to address its debt issue and these changes to car parks and increases across the borough could recover about £825.000.

The previously free car park at Townhead Street will become a payed car park, whereas Castle Street, which had been paid, will now be free.

Church Street status as a paid car park will remain the same.

However charges will increase as below:

  • Castle Street – was 20p – now free;
  • Townhead Street – was free – now 30p;
  • Church Street – was 40p – now 50p.

A full list of charges can be found at Causeway Coast Community who released the details earlier.
