Ballymoney Road Racer Darryl Tweed has announced he has signed to race for team DHR as the new Road Racing seasons begins.

Team DHR is owned and ran by Davy Hamilton who has in previous years worked with the late William Dunlop, Williams cousin Sam Dunlop as well as others such as Wayne Hamilton, Mark Hanna and Darryl Burns.

Darryl Tweed’s success and achievement over the previous years has put him on the road racing map as an up and coming competitor at the Irish race meetings and short circuits, recently winning several awards for his success in 2018.

Darryl Tweed wins multiple trophies at MCUI awards ceremony in January 2019.

Speaking about his new team for this season, Tweed said;

“I am super excited to be given this opportunity to ride more competitive machinery and I’m looking forward to working with Davy and his new team.

I feel that working together we can have a successful season. I predict that I will be able to improve my riding in the Supertwins and 600 class while gaining valuable experience on a Superbike.”

Davy Hamilton, the team owner and manager, was also full of praise for young Tweed.

“I’ve been watching Darryl over the last few years and like the way he goes about his business. He has shown real signs of class and I feel that he’s just the man to have on our machinery for 2019.”
