A small child just over one month old, has been seriously injured after an incident at the baby’s home in Mosside Co Antrim.

The circumstances resulting in the injury to the child are still unclear, but the small baby is thought to be ‘seriously ill’ in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Cllr McAuley also said;

“We hope the injured baby makes a speedy recovery.

“I am not sure who is involved but if anybody has any information I would certainly ask them to pass it on to the police.

“It is in the hands of detectives and it would appear to be a criminal investigation. Forensics are there. At this stage the PSNI are not willing to release any information.”

There was a noticeable police presence at the house from early yesterday morning with the house in question sealed off.

The police were later joined by investigators from CID and later yesterday evening by a forensics team.

All the police have issued at this time is;

“Police are currently investigating an incident in the Mosside area of Ballymoney.”
