At a special council meeting this evening a proposal to replace the roof of the pool area at the Joey Dunlop centre was put before councillors.
The proposal was passed by councillors unanimously tonight and the work is believed to begin immediately.
The proposal was put before council recently in responce to a number of pool closures due to falling and damaged roof tiles.
