Armed robbery – Oakvale Park, Ballysally, Coleraine

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an Armed Robbery in the Oakvale Park, Ballysally area of Coleraine in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, 4 July.

Shortly after 2.25am Police received a report that as a delivery driver was delivering an order he was approached by two males. He was ordered to hand over his takings which he did. The two men then made off in the direction of the playing fields.

One of the males was reported to be carrying what is believed to have been a firearm and the other one was armed with a knife. A third male was observed in alleyway close by.

The two men who robbed the driver are described as being 6’1″ and 5′ 10″ tall. One was wearing a red and black jacket with the hood up and had a white coloured scarf over his face. The second male was wearing a navy jacket with a red stripe and a dark coloured scarf up over his face. There is no description available of the third man.

Detective Constable Derek Hemphill said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Detectives at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.
