Arrest made after Sunday’s Londonderry security alerts

A Male aged 39 has been charged in relation to Sunday’s security alerts in Londonderry.

The charges include ‘communicating false information causing a bomb hoax’. This comes after the murder of Lyra McKee last week as tensions in the city remains high.

The security alerts caused huge disruptions especially to the family’s that had to be evacuated. The devices were declared a hoax and the residents have been allowed to return hone.

The areas affected were Harry Court, Strand Road, Iniscatm Road and Moss Park.

The man is due to appear at court in Londonderry on Monday.
