Two charged in relation to £1m drug seizure

Two individuals have been charged in relation to yesterday’s seizure of £1m worth of drugs in Belfast.

Detectives from PSNI Organised Crime Unit, assisted by Immigration and Enforcement officers, have charged two men, aged 29 and 61 years old with a number of drug-related offences to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday 30th January).

Both men have been charged with offences including possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, conspiracy to supply a Class B controlled drug and possessing criminal property. The 29-year-old man has additionally been charged with possession of a false identity document.

The discovery’s were made after searches in the Greater Belfast area.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A third man, aged 43 years old, who was also arrested on Tuesday (28th January) has been released unconditionally in relation to drug-related offences.
