‘Dr Jackal’ picks up Honour at Queens

Belfast born boxer, Carl Frampton, has been bestowed an Honorary Degree for services to sport by Queens University.

The Doctor of the University (DUni) for distinction in sport has already had the Tiger Bay boxer being dubbed ‘Dr Jackal’ after his in ring nickname.

Frampton can now add this to his long list of boxing awards and titles including his MBE from the Queen Which he received in 2016 for ‘services to boxing’.

Taking to Twitter after the ceremony, ‘Dr Jackal’ said;

“Honoured to be presented with an honorary doctorate at Queens University for services to sport. It’s always nice to be recognised for the things you do anywhere in the world but it means more to be recognised in Belfast, the city that I love.

Congrats to all who picked up their degrees”
